Saratoga Springs, NY - The Building Performance Institute, Inc. (BPI) is pleased to announce the release of Version 4.1 of the Home Performance eXtensible Markup Language (HPXML) Transfer Standard. HPXML creates a common language for the home performance industry, simplifying the exchange of data between contractors, program administrators, implementers, government agencies, evaluation consultants, and other industry stakeholders.
“This latest release of Version 4.1 of the standard demonstrates BPI’s commitment to adding value to the industry, in this case, revising and approving within a six-month time frame to keep up with the speed of software updates, while maintaining the rigor of a balanced and open standards process in keeping with our ANSI accreditation,” said Kevin Powell, National Technical Director at BPI.
Developed through BPI’s ANSI-accredited standards development procedures, HPXML facilitates seamless data transfer using an open and technology-neutral solution. The standard is widely used to reduce administrative costs, enhance data accuracy, and improve operational efficiency across residential energy efficiency programs. Additionally, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory's (NREL) OpenStudio HPXML Modeling Toolkit aligns with HPXML, and the recent updates were designed in collaboration with NREL to ensure compatibility.
