SARATOGA SPRINGS NY - Building Performance Institute (BPI) has been recognized as a thought leader in several leading publications over recent months. Check out our clips below for BPI's input on matters related to residential efficiency.
In March CEO Larry Zarker weighed in on options for energy efficient lighting with journalist Tik Root. LED lightbulbs are now commonly available, but not all consumers fully understand the energy and savings benefits they offer. “Ten years ago, this product {{ENERGY STAR LED light bulbs}} was not on the market, and now they're available everywhere. It's very exciting,” Larry said.
In April Matt Jachman quoted Larry while covering the growth demand for residential energy audits and the market value of energy efficient homes for ACHR News. “CEO Larry Zarker said that although {{certifications}} dipped somewhat at the start of the pandemic, the number of certifications issued by BPI has been climbing in recent months; BPI reported 256 certifications issued in January 2022 and 338 — a 32% month-over-month increase — issued in February.”
In our first recent publication meant for the real estate market, Marketing and Communications Specialist Kelly Carey spoke with Jamie Forbes for Redfin about moving to highly efficient clothes dryers. “The home performance specialists at BPI are enthusiastic about the opportunities for electric heat pump clothes dryers,” she says. “They are easy to install, need 40-50% less energy than a standard electric dryer, and are gentler on your clothes because they dry at lower temperatures. If you plan to add solar capacity to your home, heat pump dryers are a great way to bring down energy use before selecting an installation size.”
Stay tuned for further appearances in national press outlets. We're proud to contribute to the growing consumer awareness of options for home energy efficiency and strive to elevate our stakeholders in all we do.
