Special Announcement

ACEEE and the Building Performance Institute (BPI) are sponsoring a four-hour Healthy Housing Principles (HHP) training from 1-5 pm CST on January 21, 2020 at the Hyatt Centric French Quarter in advance of the ACEEE 2020 Conference on Health, Environment, and Energy in New Orleans. Trainers for the session include Kevin Kennedy of Children's Mercy Hospital of Kansas City, Joe Medosch of Hayward Healthy Home Score, and Rick Hall of Building Science Professional Training LLC.

Much as the BPI's Building Science Principles (BSP) does for teaching the fundamentals of building science, the HHP will do for raising awareness of the factors in the home that can negatively affect health. The HHP provides an overview of the fundamentals of what makes for a healthier living environment and the related terminology.
The HHP Reference Guide examines the eight "Keep It" principles that influence the home environment.
These include Keep It:
· Dry
· Clean
· Safe
· Well-Ventilated
· Pest-free
· Contaminant-free
· Well Maintained
· Thermally Controlled
Once a person has taken the training and studied this guide, they'll be prepared to pass the HHP exam and earn their HHP Certificate of Knowledge. People who register will receive a copy of the HHP Reference Guide and a code they can use to take the exam and earn the certificate. The cost is
$100 for conference registrants and $400 for non-registrants.
