BPI Welcomes Finance Director Gilbert Yanez

Saratoga Springs, NY: The Building Performance Institute (BPI) is proud to welcome Gilbert Yanez as Director of Finance.

Mr. Yanez has dedicated the past 18 years of his career to excellence in nonprofit financial management. He most recently served as VP of Finance for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and Controller for the Symphony Society of San Antonio. In these roles, Mr. Yanez led finance, accounting, and HR teams; managed budgets, cash flows, grants, and financial reporting; and ensured compliance with statutory filings.

Previously he held positions at the YMCA of Greater San Antonio including Accounting Manager, Financial Quality Assurance Director, and Senior Accountant. At the YMCA he specialized in full-cycle accounting, supervised all accounting functions, managed reconciliations, performed budget analyses, and coordinated annual audits.

“Gilbert Yanez’ depth of experience is incredibly valuable to BPI,” says CEO Larry Zarker. “We are proud to bring him on board, and we look forward to continuing our 31-year tradition of serving stakeholders and the industry with his help.”

Gilbert Yanez holds a BBA in Accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio and is a current CPA candidate. In his leisure time, he enjoys playing pickleball and disc golf, and he maintains an active routine of cardio and strength training.
