The
Building Performance Institute (BPI) is requesting
applications from individuals, BPI Affiliates, and other
organizations to deliver quality assurance services in
specific markets.
Background: BPI provides a
professional accreditation for contractors who engage in
delivering comprehensive home performance services for
their customers.
BPI Accredited contractors agree to certain BPI
policies and procedures available by clicking here or on
"Accreditation" on the front page of the BPI web site at
www.BPI.org. BPI Accredited
contractors participate in the BPI Quality Assurance
Program (QAP).
BPI's QAP provides an independent, third-party
review of the work of accredited contractors. It is designed
to provide feedback on best practice opportunities that
the contractors missed in their work scope or
installation procedures as well as to inform the
contractor of specific instances of non-conformance with
BPI National Standards. BPI is seeking
to find individuals or organizations capable of
delivering fee-based Quality Assurance services as QA
Providers for BPI in reviewing and verifying the work of
BPI Accredited contractors in local markets. More information
on BPI's Quality Assurance policies and procedures is
available by clicking here or on
"Quality Assurance" on the BPI web site.
Specific
Requirements: BPI is seeking
candidates nationwide to serve as QA Providers for BPI
as BPI Accreditation expands into new markets. The immediate
need is for QA Providers in the Northeast, Midwest,
Mid-Atlantic States, Austin, TX and Anaheim, CA. Successful
candidates will conduct office visits to audit
contractor records, select random files for field
testing, conduct field measurement and verification
testing at the selected homes, and write a report for
BPI detailing findings. Specific scopes
of work will be negotiated with successful
candidates.
Minimum
Qualifications: BPI requires
that individuals seeking to serve as a QA Provider under
the BPI Quality Assurance program:
- Hold
a valid Building Analyst Professional (BA)
Certification (candidates may apply without this
certification, but it must be obtained prior to being
awarded a contract to deliver QA Provider services for
BPI).
- Participate
in a teleconference orientation program administered
by BPI.
-
Sign
a conflict-of-interest statement relating to BPI
Accredited contractors in their market
area.
