Once you receive accredited contracting company status, you can begin to market your competitive edge. Some training organizations provide mentoring services to coach you in how to deliver home performance solutions for your customers. We encourage you to take advantage of these services. Make use of the marketing tools provided by BPI to advertise that you employ BPI certified professionals and have quality management systems for consistent, high-quality, building-performance services on every project.
You can continue working with the same customers and do the same types of jobs – the difference is in how you and your team approach the project. As a BPI accredited contracting company, you will need to start educating your customers about house-as-a-system contracting, meeting technical standards, completing in/out tests, and offering comprehensive home assessments. The idea is to differentiate your business from your competition because you offer real value and higher-quality work. The result is increased revenue and satisfied customers.
Be sure to evaluate your team’s progress. When you receive the quality assurance feedback, use it to help staff members improve their performance. This will result in fewer callbacks, more referrals and increased profits.
