To raise the performance of homes, BPI provides nationally-recognized training by a network of affiliates, as well as certification, accreditation and quality assurance programs. We recognize the need for highly trained, professional contractors and technicians. BPI Affiliates are experts in their field that provide the training services and proctor examinations at a local level.

Teach the whole-house approach.
BPI training, administered by a network of affiliates, teaches the fundamentals of home performance evaluation and whole-home retrofit planning and execution with a focus on the house-as-a-system concept, including mechanical equipment, the building envelope and manufactured housing. Consensus-based national standards set the bar, and certified technicians who have completed BPI's written and in-field practical examinations know they can identify the problems and their root causes -- and fix them right.

BPI aligns its standards, knowledge base and test questions with the training provided by BPI Affiliates who deliver the training and oversee the written and field examinations. If you're an expert in mechanical systems, building envelope retrofits, home energy evaluation or business best practices and you have internal staff that's qualified to teach these subjects, you're an excellent candidate for BPI affiliation.
